Online Level 2 Certificate in Coaching Weight Lifting

Progress to become an Independent Coach in Olympic Weightlifting with a Level 2 certification. This online course is designed for coaches who hold their level 1 certification and currently deliver and work with small groups of athletes under the supervision from a more qualified coach.

Description

It is ideal if you want to learn at your own pace, at hours that work best for you, to qualify to work independently and completing your Level 2 Certificate in Coaching Olympic Weightlifting also enables you to apply for a BWL Coach License to assist athletes at national competitions as their authorised coach. This course is Cimspa CPD endorsed.

Who is the course for?

  • Level 1 Olympic Weightlifting Assistant Coaches, currently coaching weightlifting under the supervision of a more qualified coach

 

What does the course cover?

  • Design effective programmes that support an athlete’s development
  • Key psychological skills that athletes need to develop performance
  • Create linked and progressive sessions in a 6-week training block
  • Use the BWL Technical Model to identify technical errors and come up with effective interventions
  • Specific assistance exercises to help athletes get the most from their training
  • An introduction to competition coaching

Assessments

Coaches will be able to achieve this qualification after they have successfully completed a selection of online assessments. The course has been structured to allow coaches to do this from home. Coaches will have support from a BWL Educator who will guide you through the assessment process.

 

Prerequisites

  • Level 1 Coaching Olympic Weightlifting certificate is a prerequisite to be able to complete Level 2
  • Be at least 17 years of age on the first day of the course
  • Be able to communicate effectively in English
