Who are the courses for?

 

  • The combined course is perfect for those aspiring to be a weightlifting coach and who would like to complete both courses together to become an Independent Coach on completion

 

What do the courses cover?

 

 

  • The processes and principles of coaching weightlifting
  • The rules of weightlifting
  • Planning effective sessions and training blocks
  • The key positions of the Snatch and the Clean & Jerk
  • An introduction to competition coaching
  • BWL Technical Model to identify technical errors and come up with effective interventions

What do they qualify me to do?

  • LEVEL 1: Assist a more qualified coach to deliver sessions in a club/gym setting
  • LEVEL 2: Work as an independent coach in Olympic Weightlifting and apply for a BWL Coach License to assist athletes at national competitions. 
  • Both level 1 and level 2 are Cimpsa CPD endorsed.

 

How long does it take to complete the courses?

  • LEVEL 1: 12 – 16 hours
  • LEVEL 2: 24 – 28 hours

Prerequisites

  • Be at least 17 years of age
  • Have some general experience of the lifts and weightlifting

 

Please note when you purchase a combined course, you will automatically get access to the Level 1 Award in Coaching Weightlifting. You will gain access to the Level 2 Certificate in Coaching Weightlifting course approx. 2-3 days after purchase.
