What do they qualify me to do?
LEVEL 1: Assist a more qualified coach to deliver sessions in a club/gym setting
LEVEL 2: Work as an independent coach in Olympic Weightlifting and apply for a BWL Coach License to assist athletes at national competitions
LEVEL 3: Deliver a comprehensive Olympic Weightlifting coaching programme to support athletes throughout their weightlifting journey from novice to aspiring elite athletes.
How long does it take to complete the courses?
LEVEL 1: 12 – 16 hours
LEVEL 2: 24 – 28 hours
LEVEL 3: 40 hours. N.B. as part of the course learners will also be required to take an athlete through a competition (integrating a plan, do and review)*.
The length of this process is at the learner’s discretion, however, to maximise both the coach and athlete experience we recommend a minimum of 8 weeks to complete this process. *The competition can be completed in training (i.e., a training session completed under competition conditions).

Prerequisites
LEVEL 1 & 2: Be at least 17 years of age. Have some general experience of the lifts and weightlifting
LEVEL 3: Be at least 18 years of age on the first day of the course, hold your Level 2 certificate in Coaching Olympic Weightlifting and be able to communicate effectively in English.
Please note when you purchase a combined course, you will automatically get access to the Level 1 Award in Coaching Weightlifting. You will gain access to the Level 2 Certificate in Coaching Weightlifting course and Level 3 Diploma in Coaching Weightlifting approx. 2-3 days after purchase.
