Functional fitness is a classification of training that prepares the body for real-life movements and activities, by strengthening the muscles in the same way you would need to use them for certain tasks. Movements such as squatting, reaching, pulling and lifting are made easier with functional fitness integrated into an exercise routine.

Our bodies were developed with the intention of having all our muscles work together and support each other to accomplish certain movements and tasks. Isolating certain muscle groups to add mass was not what our bodies were naturally made for.

The content in this course focuses on how instructors can teach key kettlebell exercises safely and effectively, to clients of all abilities. We have combined the knowledge and experience of some of the leading coaches and instructors from across the country to produce a course that we believe provides the underpinning knowledge to successfully integrate kettlebell training into an individual’s training programme.

Our Level 3 Instructing Weight Training will teach you to plan a yearlong programme for an athlete taking into account their commitments over this period including competition. Covering a minimum of the 26 key lifts to provide the tools and skills to instruct weight training to the very highest standards. The online Level 2 Certificate in Coaching Weightlifting is designed for coaches who currently deliver and work with small groups of athletes under supervision from a more qualified coach. This course will provide learners with the information they need to progress to becoming a fully qualified coach, including assisting athletes at national competitions as their qualified coach – once a BWL Coach Licence has been applied for.
